Studio Project Progress Report

I want to give you an update on our progress in converting this garage into a video studio. I’m genuinely excited about what the Lord is doing here. We started at the end of June and finished Phase One at the first of August. As you can see, we made a lot of progress.

Phase One consisted of sound-proofing the room from external noise and light.

  • First, we insulated and covered the window because it was letting in street noise.
  • Then we added an extra thick baseboard because sound was leaking under the drywall.
  • The biggest part of the Phase One was covering this garage door with a sound-proof wall. This wall serves two purposes. It will help sound-proof this room and it will serve as a backdrop for the videos we will be making here.

What’s next?

  • In Phase Two we are going to add a silent, climate-control unit and complete the internal sound-proofing by adding sound-absorbing wall panels, carpeting and ceiling tiles. Lastly, we will attach high luminosity, LED ceiling lights. Then we can begin to use this facility.

  • In Phase Three we are going to add better equipment. We already have a K4 video camera and Adobe video-editing software, but we still need to purchase professional quality microphones, a simple teleprompter, and other equipment. This will help us create the professional-looking videos that young people expect today.

I’m grateful to the Lord for the amazing progress we made this summer. I also want to thank my dear friends in Oregon who sponsored Phase One. And a special thanks to Glen Mast, who worked tirelessly to make this vision into a physical reality.

If others of you feel the Lord calling you to get involved, we would appreciate your donations. There’s still more to do.

Although I am reaching hundreds of students every year, I can reach thousands of Christian young people from the 16 Russian-speaking nations by putting more videos online.

Let’s train these young people and send them out to serve Christ!

Thanks so much for your interest. Bye for now.
